World War Abyss
A worldwide virus assigned the name (Abyss) is spreading all over, and your mission is to collect genetic samples to find a cure for this virus.
Cell Command is a new turn-based strategy game that is played in a style similar to Snake. Where in this case your allied cells are commanded by you. You need to attack and destroy the Abyss Virus in your search for a cure.
By collecting more genetic samples and new DNA, you can mutate and/or combine Cells to create a stronger Cell to fight for the cause.
The Game of The Play
When starting a new game/run, you will first encounter (The Setup Phase) which gets more detailed and important with your strategies later after a few fights. Because here you can change, choose, and unlock available: Commander’s, Perks, and Cells.
It’s also here where you find the (Research Tab) where you specifically can: Upgrade Buffs, Unlock new Commanders n Perks, and Extras like Mouse Cursors.
Once all is set and ready and you proceed, you will enter the (Preparation Menu) where you can purchase new DNAs/Cells likewise more from the Shop and choose what mission you want to challenge.
Missions
The Missions are fought in grid-patterned Arenas with different layout patterns and shapes. Not only do the Arenas have different shapes and patterns, but also a lot of different traps; some deal damage, while others simply move the Cell to another grid.
Depending on the Mission type, there can be a certain grid shape for the Arena, a certain amount of Corrupted/Allies that are allowed in the Arena, and rules that can depend on the sort of playstyle you need to play to win.
For example:
Defend – Win after Turn 20, with at least 1 surviving Commanding Cell.
Siege – Lose after Turn 10, be quick or lose, simply.
Destroy – No limits or timer put on; simply destroy the corrupted Cells
By pressing on an Allied Cell or Abyss Cell, you can see their Movement distance per turn, their Min – Max Size, and their Range of attack along with attack Damage.
MUTATION ALERT
Can’t produce an antidote for them all... Choose which mutation you’ll endure.
Mutations can be of benefit but also misfortune, like giving G-DNA +2 Damage. Not only does it give our G-DNA that bonus, but also all of the corrupted Cells. Mutations happen every now and then after a certain number of missions.
Shop
The shop displays four options, from DNAs, GENEs, and CHIPS, which give pretty good upgrades. (From the research tab you can unlock Bleach, Reroll, and Banish, which you use in the shop.)
Unsure what Bleach does, Reroll explains itself, and Banish says, “Pick an item to BANISH from the shop for the rest of this run.”
Visual & Audio
Visuals
The visuals are simple but colorful and remind one of neon light. As the game is played out on different laid-out arenas with grid patterns forming different forms and shapes. The arenas are equipped with walls and traps to further enhance the gameplay experience.
As the background isn’t much for the eye but a black abyss, it doesn’t matter much, as the screen is filled with the arena and all the enemies and traps laid around. Along with watching the enemy’s reach of attack.
But I do need to say I truly love the different DNA icons when mutating different DNAs and forming a new one. They turn so colorful and, simply put, really beautiful. Even during missions their bodies display the same color pattern as shown on the icon.
Audio
The game contains a large variety of different songs made to fit the game, and all are different from the menu and different levels.
Menu got 12 songs, Mission 1 – 5 got 20 songs, Mission 6 – 10 got 21 songs, Mission 11 – 15 got 19 songs, and finally Boss got 13 songs.
Each song may be from 1 – 5 minutes, so seeing a game with a total of 85 songs makes it pretty impressive.

My Final Little Thoughts
At first, I judged the book by its cover; it all seemed so confusing and difficult. But after starting the game, reading the instructions, and playing for like 3 hours, I got the hang of it and understood how to play.
I even just learned what certain DNA types do and what they might do when mutating with other ones or more of the original one.
I do have to say, for anyone who finds a large interest in these types of games, I am 100% sure you’ll love this one and would be able to sit down for hours simply playing it.
Hence why I said the ones who find a LARGE interest are because of the price, which is understandable but also quite high. But all in all, I highly recommend trying out Cell Command.
