I'm Fucking My Boss's Lover

Why’s The Name So Long??

Aight, lemme just start off by expressing how genuinely impressed I am with this game. Going in, I was expecting something poopy and over the top just for shock value. What I got instead was basically a full-blown NSFW doujin in game form. It’s story driven, with like 5 hours of content, and clearly made with actual effort. Even without animated scenes, it manages to keep you hooked throughout. You mostly sit back, relax, and click through like a classic visual novel, but there is a lot going on under the surface.

It is messy, dramatic, spicy, and sometimes ridiculous, but in a way that feels intentional and entertaining.

About This Game

Storyline

The story follows Kouji Saeki, your average struggling office worker who cannot seem to catch a break. He messes up, gets scolded by his asshole of a boss, & drags himself through boring workdays. The only bright spot in his life is his coworker Remi Hanazawa. Just hearing her voice gives him the motivation to survive another shift.

Then one night, after taking a walk through the red light district, he runs into Remi. And not just randomly. She is there to meet his boss. That is when revenge pops into Kouji’s head like a giant neon sign.

Now, I am not a fan of cheating or cuck stuff, so the entire theme was not really my thing. That said, the writing is actually good. It feels like a proper adult anime plot. The drama builds naturally, the tension makes sense, and the characters feel like more than just cardboard cutouts. If you enjoy cheating drama and messy relationships, you will probably eat this up.

Even if you are not into the theme, it is hard to deny that the story itself is decently put together. 🤷

Gameplay Mechanics

This is very much a visual novel. You read, you click, and you enjoy the ride. There is a skip function for people who want to move faster, and there is a full gallery and scene replay mode, which is always a welcome addition in this type of game.

One thing that threw me off at first is that I do not think it runs on Ren'Py. The navigation felt weird in the beginning. I had no idea how to access the pause menu or save options. Turns out you just hover your mouse at the top of the screen, and the options pop up. Once I figured that out, it was fine, but it definitely confused me for a bit.

There is also no proper windowed full-screen mode. The normal windowed mode is extremely small. Like, really, really small. You can’t resize it, even with third-party software like Borderless Gaming. So you’re forced to use fullscreen. The problem is that when you Alt+Tab, your screen turns black for a second, which gets really annoying. Maybe it’s a tactic to ensure you focus on the game. 🤔

On top of that, in full screen, the images feel low-res. I use a 2K monitor, & the artwork looks a bit blurry when stretched out. It would have been amazing if they had included 4K assets or at least higher-resolution images for bigger monitors.

Visuals & Audio

This is where the game really shines.

There are no animated scenes, only still images, but damn man, they look fantastic. I am sure they are human-made, and they genuinely look like panels straight out of a doujin. The art is visually appealing & extremely well made. No AI was used at all, and you can feel the care in the details.

Yes, the genitals are censored. I know that is how it works in normal hentai and adult manga, but seeing censorship in a full NSFW game feels a lil bit weird. Still, it honestly did not affect the experience that much. After a while, you stop caring.

The biggest highlight for me was the voice acting. All of Remi’s lines are fully voiced, including the sex scenes. That adds way more depth and emotion. It makes her feel like an actual character instead of just text on a screen. The voice work really carries the atmosphere during the more steamy moments.

One weird issue, though, is the text. For some reason, an extra "c" gets added to words very often. Like a lot. It is not subtle. You will be reading and suddenly see random extra letters popping up everywhere. It really throws off the reading flow, and I have no idea why it happens. It is small but noticeable enough to be distracting.

Pros-

  • Over five hours of story-driven content.

  • Surprisingly solid writing that feels like a real adult anime plot.

  • Beautiful human-made artwork that looks like a NSFW manga.

  • Full voice acting for Remi, including intimate scenes.

  • Skip function, full gallery, and scene replay mode.

Cons-

  • No proper windowed full-screen mode.

  • Window mode is extremely small and cannot be resized, & full screen causes black screen flicker when alt-tabbing.

  • Images look low resolution and blurry on higher-res monitors.

  • Random extra "c" letters in the text that mess with reading flow.

Conclusion

Even though the theme was not really my cup of tea, I absolutely can’t deny that this game impressed me. The art is genuinely visually appealing, the voice acting adds a lot of personality, and the story is better written than I expected.

Yes, the technical issues and resolution problems are frustrating, especially if you care about presentation on a higher-resolution monitor. And yes, the random extra letters in the text are weird and annoying. But none of that completely ruins the experience.

This title was surely a breath of fresh air in this overpopulated genre filled with low-effort AI art and generic storylines. Looking forward to playing more games from these devs!
