Short NTR Stories

Why?

So, I ended up playing Short NTR Stories because, well, I had to. It’s a collection of bite-sized stories centred around the netorare (NTR) genre—basically, tales of love and betrayal, where someone’s partner ends up in the arms of someone else. Not really my cup of tea, but hey, I took one for the team (You’re welcome Roger 🙄). The game is still in development, and I played a pre-release build that only had one story available. More are coming, but let’s dive into what I experienced so far.

About This Game

Storyline

The only story in this pre-release build is called A Strange Tradition, and yeah, it’s…strange, to say the least. It takes place in a small village where newlyweds Fatima and Arjun are supposed to follow some old tradition where Arjun’s uncle, Anand, plays a big role in their wedding night. Seems harmless at first, right? But of course, there’s more to it. Turns out, Anand isn’t exactly the kind-hearted uncle he appears to be. While Arjun is totally clueless, Fatima is stuck figuring out how to protect their marriage and deal with this sleazy situation. It’s a story of uncomfortable power dynamics and betrayal, wrapped up in cultural customs gone wrong.

Honestly, I wasn’t really drawn into the plot—it’s full of themes that just didn’t sit well with me. If you’re into the darker, more twisted aspects of relationships, then maybe this would appeal to you. But as someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy stories about cheating and manipulation, it was mostly a turn-off.

Gameplay Mechanics

Given that Short NTR Stories is built in the Ren'Py engine, the gameplay is pretty straightforward: you’re mostly clicking through dialogue and making a few choices here and there. As you complete stories, you unlock new ones, so there’s an element of progression, but it's very minimal. There’s also a gallery mode where you can revisit scenes if that’s your thing. Honestly, though, there isn’t much in the way of “gameplay”—it’s more about experiencing the stories.

Visuals & Audio

This is where the game surprised me a little. Despite my lack of enthusiasm for the plot, I have to admit the visuals were decent. The 3D renders are detailed, and the animations are pretty decent, making the whole thing look more polished than I expected for a pre-release build. Transitions between scenes are fluid, and the resolution is crisp, so there’s definitely some attention to quality here.

The UI design deserves a shout-out, too—it’s better than what I usually see in Ren’Py games. It feels modern and user-friendly, which helps keep you engaged even if the content itself isn’t your thing. As for the audio, it’s nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done. Ambient sounds and character voice snippets are there to add a little more depth, though they’re not exactly groundbreaking.

One particular thing I disliked about the character model is weirdly about Fatima’s boobs. Her breasts are extremely huge but perky at the same time. It looks like they are floating. This just makes the character look weird. Hey, I am all in for big boobs but their representation of it is unnatural.

Pros

  • Decent 3D renders and animations; the visuals stand out compared to similar games.

  • User interface is polished and easy to navigate, which is a plus in visual novel-type games.

  • The game’s gallery mode allows you to revisit unlocked scenes at your leisure.

Cons

  • The content and themes might not be for everyone—especially if NTR, cheating, or betrayal turn you off.

  • The current story didn’t offer much depth, relying more on shock value than meaningful character development.

Conclusion

Short NTR Stories is definitely a niche game for a specific audience. If you’re into NTR themes and exploring darker sides of relationships, this could be right up your alley. But if you’re like me, and the whole concept of cheating and manipulation just makes you feel, well, gross, then it’s probably not going to be an enjoyable experience. That said, the visuals and UI are surprisingly well done for a game that’s still in development, so at least it’s got that going for it.

Ultimately, whether or not you’ll enjoy Short NTR Stories depends on how comfortable you are with its mature and controversial themes. If you're not into NTR, this one’s a pass—but if you’re curious about exploring a provocative and complex fetish in game form, maybe give it a shot when more stories are added.
