Elleria - Book 1

Updated: Apr 1

Books Should Be Books!

Elleria is an adult visual novel that throws you into a dark, fantasy world filled with war, faith, betrayal, and, of course, a little bit of sexual content. This isn’t your typical "click-through for the next spicy scene" kind of AVN—this one is all about storytelling, character depth, and making choices that (eventually) impact the world.

But is it worth diving into for the story alone? Or does it drag too much for its own good? Well, let’s break it down.

About This Game

Storyline

So, right off the bat, Elleria sets up a pretty serious and morally grey narrative. You play as Eliot Magnus (though you can rename him), a former Paladin of faith who was once hailed as a hero—until he realized he was fighting for all the wrong reasons. Now, he’s on a path of revenge, redemption, or maybe something in between. The story is all about power, control, and how belief can shape (or shatter) a person.

And I have to say, the writing is really solid. It doesn’t feel like the typical "excuse plot" a lot of AVNs use to string together adult scenes. It’s deep, well thought-out, and genuinely engaging—if you’re into heavy narratives. The game also sprinkles in some interesting lore via the Codex system, which lets you learn more about the world, its characters, and its history.

However… the pacing? Yeah, that’s where things get a little tricky. The first few chapters are incredibly linear, and the story takes a long time before you get to make any real choices. Some might call it immersive world-building, while others might call it slow and frustrating. I personally enjoyed the depth, but I won’t lie—if you’re the kind of person who needs choices right out the gate, this might test your patience.

Gameplay Mechanics

This is where Elleria is a bit of a mixed bag. There are some gameplay mechanics beyond just clicking through text. The "War Table" system is probably the most intriguing, letting you make decisions that influence the world in various ways. That said, in the early chapters, the game is very much a kinetic novel—you’re mostly just reading, with few real choices.

Another thing to note: if you’re looking for a more interactive AVN with lots of branching paths and replayability, this might not be the game for you. From what I’ve seen, there’s really just one major story path to follow, which some people will love (because no need for multiple playthroughs) while others might find restrictive.

Visuals & Audio

Okay, this is where the game absolutely shines. The renders are fantastic. The character models are detailed and expressive, and the world feels well-crafted. And major props to the devs for not going the "every woman has oversized everything" route—character designs actually feel natural and varied.

The music is also solid. Custom soundtracks? Hell yes. The background tracks fit the tone of the game perfectly, whether it's a somber, reflective moment or something more intense. Sound effects are decent too, adding a bit more immersion without feeling overdone.

Pros

  • Engaging Storyline: If you love deep, well-written narratives, this one delivers. Themes of faith, morality, and power make for an interesting ride.

  • Amazing Renders: The visual quality is top-notch, and characters look fantastic.

  • Good Character Development: Small cast means more focus on each individual, and their motivations feel well thought out.

  • Custom Music & Sound Effects: Adds an extra layer of immersion.

  • No Forced Replay for Different Endings: A single, strong storyline means you don’t have to replay multiple times just to see everything.

Cons

  • Very Linear (Especially Early On): The first chapters barely give you any real choices, which might frustrate players who prefer more control.

  • Slow Pacing: If you’re not a fan of long stretches of dialogue-heavy storytelling, you might find yourself zoning out.

  • Not a "Sex-First" AVN: If you're a gooner who is here strictly for the adult content, you'll be waiting a while. There are scenes, but they’re pretty few and far between compared to other AVNs.

  • Some Minor Dialogue Errors: Nothing game-breaking, but there are occasional typos and awkward sentences.

Conclusion

So, do I recommend this game? Yes… but with conditions. If you’re someone who loves deep, immersive storytelling and doesn’t mind a slow-burn experience, this is a great pick. The world is well-crafted, the characters are interesting, and the visuals are some of the best I’ve seen in an AVN.

However, if you’re expecting a choice-heavy, super interactive experience with tons of adult content sprinkled throughout? You might want to temper those expectations. This is first and foremost a story-driven AVN, and that means long stretches of dialogue before you get to the "action" (both in terms of story decisions and adult scenes).

For me, I enjoyed it, and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for Book 2. But I can also see why it wouldn’t be for everyone. If you ever find yourself in the mood for a rich, well-written fantasy epic—with some spicy moments along the way—then Elleria is absolutely worth checking out.

Rating: 9/10

Tbh, I don’t see the appeal in 3D Renders of women…
